The Pan African Climate Alliance and Decarbonization (PACAD) is a collaborative initiative dedicated to combating climate change across the African continent. We collaborate closely with government line ministries, Commissions, County governments, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community based organizations (CBOs) in designing and implementing climate resilience donor funded projects and programs in Kenya. Our current interventions/ Initiatives involve providing technical skills in Climate Change finance, biodiversity conservation and protection, mitigation and adaptation practices, including providing leadership in carbon markets and emissions reduction across communities and partners in targeted geographical locations across Africa continent and beyond. Equally, we provide technical guidance and moving priority opportunities to full-scale development, and estimations of the technical, financial, social and Climate eligibility and viability of potential Carbon interventions among NGOs and state agencies including but not limited to local communities. PACAD environmental specialist are well exposed to multilateral processes and as such they have represented diverse organizations and institutions in key international climate change policy events including pre and post Conference of Parties to the United Nation Framework on Climate Change and Conference of Parties to the Convention on Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) implementation. PACAD participation in these events have involved developing policy positions, policy briefs, engaging with government representatives on key policy positions and organizing side events to create awareness on various Climate thematic areas. We educate individuals and communities on the importance of sustainable decomposition and how they can make a difference.
Through partnerships with governments and institutions, we develop and implement programs that reduce waste, improve soil health, and cut down emissions.
We are constantly exploring new and innovative ways to enhance the decomposition process, whether through technological advancements or traditional methods like composting.
